Dayazhai Yellow-Ground Bowl, Tongzhi to Guangxu.
Very finely decorated in black grisaille to depict a continuous scene with a bird perch on a vine-entangled tree by sprouting peonies,all in reserved on a bright lemon yellow enameled ground, with an incised Da Ya Zhai ( studio of Great Elegance )horizontal mark and oval panel inscribed Tian-Di-Ye-Jia-Chun ( Spring throughout heaven and earth )in iron red, the foot with an iron red Yong-Qing-Chang-Chun ( Eternal joy and everlasting spring ) mark on the underside ,such porcelain ware were produced from Tongzhi to early Guangxu Period under the supervision of the Empress Dowager Cixi. Size 9 inchs diam. 4 1/2 inches high.
